As anyone who has followed this link

.....knows my dog Copper came from a very bad past. Whoever that 1st owner was destroyed Copper, and there is a special place in Hell for them.  I had Copper for a little over 3 years trying to heal him. Physically he was healed, but his demons got the better of him. He just couldn't let go of the past.  Over the last year, something in him was starting to snap. Even though he was trained, he attacked a hens (no marks I was next to her), a few months ago my kitten, Midnight ( I was next to them, and stopped it asap) then last week Copper turned on his best friend Chloe who still doesn't understand why that fight happened. She was trying to play.  He tried to bite her eyes multiple times and wouldn't obey commands like Chloe was trying to. He growled showing teeth at me a few days ago. As a responsible dog owner, I know for a fact its just a matter of time before he bites someone. I know this with 1st hand knowledge with my brother's dog, Thor. I have the scars to prove it.

I knew this may happen once I realized how badly damaged Copper was. I was just hoping he could recover. I had him the longest out of all the owners, and did everything I could think of. While here, Copper was never starved. He got to play, be well fed, and be loved.

This morning at 7:30am, Copper left this world to go to rainbow bridge. He's at peace now and those demons can't get him anymore. I'm sorry boy, I tried my best to stop them. I was with him when he died. I didn't want him to be alone like he had been most of his early life. I wanted him to know I still cared for him and it hurt doing what had to be done. He had a bad life before I found him and did everything I could to save him. My son buried him in a field with the forest close by, a nice peaceful place for him. I just wish he could of found that in life.

I'm sorry I couldn't do more for you

Classy, sassy, and a bit of a smart assy

Thank you for sharing so much about Copper with us over the past 3 years, (Boy did those go fast.) I know how much this hurts you. I know how generous you are with your pets and understand how much you tried to make his last years comfortable. I watched as he shared Christmas with your family, I have seen the gifts you bought him. So many things that were his will always be his.

He could not have gotten 3  more years at the pound and I thank you for giving him the best life could offer.

Sleep easily tonight knowing Copper is among other pets just like our beloved "Chunk", life eternal is for all living beings,

We'll ALL see you soon Copper. Until then rest in peace. 🕊️
